Hey, I should be working on my grad work but youtube is so much more fun!
Hopeless.

Below, are two more music videos challenging the nuclear hegemony in Japan. Top includes UA who is a very famous singer who engages with lots of social issues. Second video is group of school girls in uniform (a popular style for J-Pop). Both are all women, an important theme in the anti-nuclear movement in Japan, and probably target an audience that "activists" are not able to reach. Many Japanese oppose opposition (aka protect the status quo). Terms like demo (demonstration), datsugenpatsu (anti-nuclear), katsudo (activism), seem to trigger a security mechanism embedded in their minds, and they go into fight or flight mode.

It helps to have moms and young school girls be the ones laying it down. It's in stark contrast to the old Japanese men who own the government, major corporations (e.g. energy and financial institutions), and have been the developers of major ecological and economic crises. We'll see if this movement can dismantle the their disastrous hegemonic rule over Japan.

 脱原発系の二つのミュージック・ビデオ。
両方とも女子からシンプルでポップに 脱原発を訴えている。
脱原発運動の特徴は女性のリーダーシップだと思う。
 エリートのオジサン達が政治と企業を独占している中、
 女性や若者が立ち上がっている現状にとてもホッとしている。 

僕はこの動きを「脱オジサン型社会」運動と考えている。
一部のエリートオジサンを支えるために国民がいるのではない！

彼らは日本の生命力を搾取している気がする。
贅沢をしながら権力にしがみついて、
残されるのは何世代も続く汚染された日本、
多大な借金、崩壊した自給自足システム、
 希望のもちにくい未来。 

あ、やっちゃった。
 もっと非暴力コミュニケーションを練習しないと。
 ついつい怒っちゃうんだよね。 

でも、変だと思わない？
政治のトップ、東電のトップ、東大のトップが
未だにオジサンに支配されている日本の現状。
なんでだと思う？

権力をオジサンが独占している日本の長い歴史は
いつ変わるのだろうか？ 
今の日本に必要なのは多様性、知性、そして心じゃないのかな？

日本を「愛」で育もう！

 因に、僕が一番好きな日本の活動家はグリーンアクションの
アイリーン・みよこ・スミスさん。彼女は最高！
水俣病公害犯罪から原発問題に長い間取り組んでいる、
オールマイティで面白いキャラのアクティビスト。
