Hi all, still in Doha, Qatar attending the COP 18. It's 4am and the conference has a long way to go. More on that later.

I want to invite you to the Nuclear Free Now conference in Tokyo next weekend. I'm organizing a youth session with a really diverse and active group of youth. The panelists are a girl who has been actively organizing since her teens, another teen idol who has been outspoken about nukes, a sanse-hibakusha representing a rapidly growing movement called Temporary Autonomous Zone, and a youth from Amature Riot (responsible for the largest anti-nuclear protest since 3/11). Hopefully this session will help evolve the anti-nuclear movement and get Japanese more interested in youth empowerment.

Nuclear Free Now Global Conference for a Nuclear Power Free World 2

Following on from the Global Conference for a Nuclear Power Free World, held in Yokohama in January 2012 with more than 11,500 people from 30 countries participating, a second international citizens' conference will be held with the aims of realizing the abolition of nuclear power and creating a society based instead on sustainable, renewable energy.

この実行委員会は、２０１２年１月１４～１５日にパシフィコ横浜に１万人以上を集めた「脱原発世界会議 2012 YOKOHAMA」の成功を引き継ぎつつ、さらに大きな世論を起こすために２０１２年１０月に新たに発足したものです。 ２０１２年１１月５日現在、以下の団体等が参加しています。
