From Orcas to Tokyo,

what a shocking transition.

オーカス島から東京への

トランジションは中々厳しいです。

The Bullocks Permaculture Homestead was the good life in bliss paradise,

featuring a community of mostly young likeminded happy people, beautiful food forest including a marsh and ponds, and lots of freedom!

On the other hand, Tokyo aka Babylon, feels like the sobering reality of the finest unsustainability that I've been sheltered from during my privileged internship.

ブロックス・パーマカルチャー・ホームステッドでは、

同じようなバリュとビジョンを持った楽しい若者コミュニティーや、

楽園のような食べ物の森、生命で溢れる沼、裸で泳げる池、

そして自由な生活による開放感を味わっていました。

いうまでもなく、東京都はとても違う世界です。

It's time to see how much I've really learned.

An opportunity to engage with the self-destructive systems that are heading to collapse...or if we can help it, a graceful descent as Rob Hopkins puts it.

しかし、このショッキングな移住は、

自分の成長に繋がる大きなチャンスだと思っています。

東京が生命を育む持続可能な楽園として再生すれば、

世界が大きく変わるではないでしょうか。

文化、環境、経済、政治へのインパクトが集中する大都市、

そこが変わらなければ、みんな道連れとなってしまいます。

So, I'm looking for permaculture projects in Tokyo to plug into,

or to start one myself.

What I have to offer is mostly passion and determination.

...and some experience.

そう言うわけで、今は東京内でのパーマカルチャープロジェクトを探しています。

僕がオファーできるものはパッションとやる気。

理想の火が都会に消されないように工夫もしています。

多少役立つ経験もあります。

what I am looking for:

1. community / people to (net)work with and LEARN from

2. land (ideally near Ogikubo or in Suginamiku as thats my zone 1) to do projects

3. funding or job opportunities

4. presentation and teaching opportunities

5. any other helpful resources

探している物：

１．コミュニティー。一緒に活動して、サポートし合い、学習できる仲間。

２．土地。今は荻窪周辺が都合良いです（僕のゾーン１）。

３．活動資金や収入源。

４．プレゼンやワークショップを行う機会。

持続可能な社会作り、パーマカルチャー、グループ・プロセス　（ソーシャル・パーマカルチャー）、実践方教育、食べ物の森作り（フード・フォレスト）などについてここ数年欧米で教えてきました。

５．他にも色々あると思います。

なるべくブログで活動の進行をアップデートするつもりです。

例えば、先週末は藤野のトランジション夏フェスに行ってきました。

日本のトランジション運動もこつこつと広がっているようです。

とくに3.11からトランジションタウンに関心を持つようになった人たちが

増えています。

Until I get a solid footing, I'm going to survey, as best as I can, the socio-physical landscape and network with key people I am aware of already. I'll try to keep my blog updated on that front.

今はなるべくネットワークを広げながら、

日本で行われている面白そうなプロジェクト、

有力なコミュニティーなどと繋がりを作っていこうとしています。

金銭的な制限もありますが。。。

I'm also trying to figure out my place with the aftermath of the earthquake, nuclear disasters, and sad state of Japanese politics and democracy.

大きく日本を変えた3.11と福島原発。

引き続き国民を上手に利用する政治家と大企業。

このおやじエリートジャパンとどう効果的に関わるかも探っています。
