冬から春へ From Winter to Spring Part 2

On Friday we made the big move from the Greenhouse to the outdoor kitchen. It was quite an event with music booming out of the solar boom box, and all the craziness associated with moving.....a communal kitchen! Here is Dave moving the stove/oven as he passes by the solar boom box riksha.

All the food! Craziness.

Kitchen is ready to go. Really nice design. Easy to clean, nice if you live in outdoor weather and especially if nature surrounds you.......and you have a bunch of people in the kitchen. This kitchen has no fridge but has propane hookups for the stove/oven and on-demand hot water (just like Japan). The floor is wood chips so we don't kick up dust and an opaque tarp to keep rain out and sunlight in.

Just for comparison here is a kale-centered picture of the kitchen in the Greenhouse. (Aside: we eat kale almost every meal, probably because it overwinters, is high in nutrients, and we have a ton of it. It makes us fart quite a bit. People here seem to love kale and millet a lot.) It was quite a space as the living room, dining space, kitchen, sauna, storage, plant propagation was all happening in the Greenhouse. It was quite a new experience to be eating dinner and seeing naked people come out of the sauna to take a after another.
